People who are especially talented in the Connectedness theme have faith in the links between all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has a reason.

I think this is a key component to how I manage teams and drive projects. We are all dependent on each other. Success doesn’t come from a single individual, and we have the greatest successes when we see and understand our dependencies on each other. Being concerned about providing our part in a way that allows the other parts to deliver makes for the most fluid and timely movement of work.

I’m a big believer in Agile methodologies for many things because it forces people to look more realistically at the inter-dependencies in work. It creates common definitions of done. It allows everyone to look at the piece of marble and see the same statue inside. When a team, and collection of teams, is able to fire on all cylinders together that way there is very little they cannot achieve.
